Servings 600 grams

Ingredients

Dishwasher powder

  • 200 g Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate of soda)
  • 200 g Washing soda (soda crystals/sodium carbonate/soda ash)
  • 200 g Citric acid
  • 10 drops Essential oil (lemon) (optional)

Rinse aid

  • Alcohol vinegar (8%)

Instructions

  • Mix dry ingredients well (wear gloves/mask if dusty).
  • Store in airtight jar.
  • For tablets: Add a little water/lemon juice to make a damp mix, press into ice-cube trays or silicone moulds, dry overnight.
  • Usage: 3 tbsp per load in the detergent compartment. Pair with vinegar rinse aid below for best results.
  • Use your 8% alcohol vinegar undiluted: fill the rinse aid compartment with it. Top up as needed.
It prevents water spots, aids drying, and fights limescale. Perfect for UK hard water areas.
  • Run an empty hot cycle with citric acid occasionally to descale.

Notes

Makes enough for 30–50 loads
