Fabric Detergent (Laundry Liquid)
Ingredients
Fabric Detergent
- 240 g Washing soda (soda crystals/sodium carbonate/soda ash)
- 120 g Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate of soda)
- 150 ml Castile soap (liquid) unscented is best for sensitive skin
500 ml Water- 20 drops Essential oil
Fabric softener
- Alcohol vinegar (8%)
Instructions
- Dissolve the washing soda and bicarbonate of soda in the boiling water (stir well).
- Let it cool slightly, then gently stir in the liquid Castile soap (don’t whisk hard to avoid too many bubbles).
- Add essential oil if desired.
- Pour into a reused detergent bottle or jar. It may thicken or gel as it cools – just shake before use.
- Use 30–50ml (about 2–3 tbsp) per load.
- Add 30–60 ml (about 2–4 tablespoons) of your 8% alcohol vinegar to the fabric softener drawer per load. It softens, removes residue, reduces static, and freshens. The smell vanishes in drying.
